New Product from Network Critical Allows Monitoring 10 Gigabit Segments with 1 Gigabit Monitoring Tools

Network Critical, the creator of the leading carrier-grade Access Technology Solutions, announced today that it has developed a new product, the Smart Network Access 10G Filtering TAP. This newest addition to the new Smart Network Access product line allows customers to access a 10 Gigabit data stream while providing the ability to filter the traffic and send it out a 1 Gigabit monitoring port. This innovative product provides a way for customers to continue to utilize their 1 Gigabit analysis tools while still being able to upgrade to a 10 Gigabit data stream.
The Smart Network Access 10G Filtering TAP comes equipped with two 10 Gigabit Live Network input Ports, two 10 Gigabit Monitoring Ports that allow for filtering and two 1 Gigabit Monitoring Ports that support aggregation and filtering. As with all the components of the Smart Network Access System, this unit comes equipped with Network Critical’s Failsafe Technology, which assures no disruption of network traffic, even if power is lost to the unit.

Unlike other 10 Gigabit filtering devices available, the Smart Network Access 10G Filtering TAP makes filtering easy. Anchored and non-anchored searches are supported anywhere in the payload content. Pattern searches may be conducted with wild cards inside the packet right down to the last byte, not limiting users to only searching the first 128 bytes of a packet. A simple web-based user interface allows dynamic and incremental provisioning with the click of a mouse.
