  • Easy to Use Web Interface and Filtering Capabilities Now Available with the Smart Network Access System

    Network Critical, the creator of the leading enterprise access technology solutions, has added new features to the Smart Network Access System. Utilizing an easy to use web interface, filters can now be applied to the data passing through the TAP, allowing only the traffic you want to see to be passed on to monitoring tools.

    The new web interface works exclusively with the SmartNA 1U Chassis, allowing the user to configure the modules, configure the backplane and apply filters to the unit. It will also provide the ability to receive SNMP alerts based on multiple conditions. The easy to use web interface offers the ability to perform administration for the device, such as upgrading to the latest firmware version or rebooting a TAP or control module.

    This upgrade also introduces the ability to filter traffic passing through the TAP before it is sent out the monitoring ports. Users can create hundreds of filters on Layer 2, 3 or 4 traffic. This provides the ability to send only the necessary traffic to attached monitoring tools. Once filtered, the traffic can be aggregated together or regenerated to many output ports. The new filtering feature provides even more flexibility to the Smart Network Access System.
